Board of Directors

  • Keith Fawcett - President & Board Member

    Keith has over 40 years of experience in the commercial insurance and reinsurance business. His expertise spans both the domestic and international insurance and reinsurance markets with a focus on alternative risk transfer.

    During his career Mr. Fawcett most recently served as President of a third-party administration company and as President of a reinsurance intermediary. Mr. Fawcett began his career as a broker at Lloyds of London specializing in North American non-marine business. After a transfer to the United States, Mr. Fawcett continued his career in commercial insurance. Keith joined the board of ABIC RRG in 2017 and was appointed President later that same year.

    Mr. Fawcett holds insurance agent licenses for property and casualty and for life and health insurance. He has also earned professional designations awarded by the American Institute for CPCU.

  • Timothy Chesson - Treasurer & Board Member

    Tim’s career in the insurance business spans 44 years. A 1980 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. degree in insurance, Tim began his career with Hartford Insurance. He then moved to Zurich Insurance where he managed their branch offices in New Orleans, LA and Jackson, MS. Tim was later promoted to their Director of Field Operations for the U.S. Commercial Middle Market Division in Schaumburg, IL. In 2003, Tim joined AXIS Capital Holdings to build out of their U.S. operation. He ultimately became President of the AXIS U.S. Program Division.

    In late 2020, Tim formed an independent consulting business with a focus on both strategic and operational projects.  Tim was appointed to the Board of Directors for ABIC RRG in late 2020. In 2022, Tim joined the Board of Directors for Cajun Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange where he continues to serve. He also serves on the board of Safepoint Holdings, a diversified group of insurance entities with a primary focus on property writings in Florida and the Gulf Coast region.

  • Jeffrey P. Pettus, CPA - Secretary & Board Member

    Jeff has over 25 years of experience holding senior leadership positions including President of a large third-party administration company specializing in workers compensation and liability claims management for the insurance industry. Prior to his insurance services career Mr. Pettus worked in the financial services industry.

    Mr. Pettus Jeff graduated cum laude from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting.

    Upon graduation, Jeff joined the firm of Ernst & Young, LLP, where his primary focus was working with financial institutions. While with Ernst & Young, LLP he gained valuable experience and exposure to a cross section of businesses.

    Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.

  • Bud Curtis - Board Member

    Bud has worked in the insurance industry for over 48 years with a focus on the alternative risk transfer market.  He has a broad expertise in all lines of insurance coverages and industries. He specializes in developing and implementing unique insurance programs.

    Currently, he is Vice President of Captive & Alternative Risk Business Development with McGriff, a Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC Company. Mr. Curtis began his career as an agent with a regional broker ultimately developing and managing a national program for the explosives industry.

    In addition, Bud has formed various entities including a RRG for LP Gas distributors and five Workers Compensation Self Insurance Funds, most notably for the Tennessee Associated Builders and Contractors.

    Bud holds Property & Casualty and Life & Health Agent resident licenses in Alabama & a non-resident license in Tennessee. He earned a BS in Behavioral Management from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. He is an active and award-winning member of the Tennessee Captive Insurance Association.

  • Douglas Sizemore - Board Member

    Mr. Sizemore has enjoyed a long and distinguished insurance career forming a retail insurance agency in Eastern Tennessee. He served as President of an insurance company and provides insurance regulatory consulting services.

    In 1995 Mr. Sizemore was appointed as Insurance Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance until his retirement in 2000.

    Mr. Sizemore holds a B.S. Degree from East Tennessee State University.
